This campaign supports 20 students by covering their full secondary school needs, costing $550 per student each term.

Why Your Support Is Critical

Access to secondary education remains a major challenge for many children in the Amboseli region, where most families depend on pastoralism, small-scale farming, and informal work. These livelihoods are highly affected by climate change, recurring droughts, and unstable income, making it difficult for parents to consistently support the cost of schooling. Over the past decade, frequent droughts have caused significant livestock losses—often the only source of household income—leaving many families unable to afford school fees, uniforms, meals, or essential learning supplies.

For many students, the nearest secondary school is miles away. Some walk 10 to 20 kilometers each day, a journey that leads to fatigue, absenteeism, and reduced study time. Boarding schools would ease these difficulties, but the fees remain out of reach for most families. Cultural and social pressures also contribute to educational disruption, with girls at risk of early marriage and boys often expected to herd livestock during critical academic periods.

Even when students manage to attend school, they frequently encounter overcrowded classrooms, limited teaching materials, and a lack of essential resources such as science equipment, computers, and well-stocked libraries. These constraints make it difficult for learners to meet curriculum standards and to compete with peers from better-resourced environments.

This campaign was created to help address these challenges by providing comprehensive support for 20 students from the Amboseli region. Each student requires $550 per term to cover school fees, uniforms, stationery, shoes, and daily meals—costs that many families simply cannot manage. The aim is to keep these students in school, reduce dropout rates, and ensure they have a stable environment where they can grow academically and emotionally.

The students supported through this initiative are enrolled in Kimana Girls Secondary School, Oloitoktok Boys High School, Namelok Secondary School, and Lewis High School. With assistance beginning in January 2026 (Term 1), these young learners will have the opportunity to continue their education without interruption. Beyond helping individual students, this support strengthens families and contributes to building a more educated and empowered community.

As part of our commitment to transparency, we keep donors updated throughout the year by sharing regular progress reports, photos, and term summaries. This ensures that supporters can clearly see the impact of their contributions. Working together with local schools, community leaders, and families, we strive to ensure each student receives the consistent support they need to succeed.
