Amboseli Fresh Water Program – Hope in Every Drop
Access to safe and reliable water remains a daily struggle for many families in the Amboseli community. Women and children often walk long distances to collect water from unsafe sources, exposing households to health risks, lost school time, and reduced opportunities for economic growth. These challenges affect nearly every part of daily life, making it difficult for families to stay healthy, attend school consistently, farm effectively, or build stable livelihoods.
The Amboseli Fresh Water Program aims to change this reality by establishing a sustainable, community-managed clean water system. The project includes drilling a reliable borehole, installing a solar-powered pumping system, constructing a secure concrete platform, and building water storage and distribution points that provide safe water throughout the year. A hydro-geological survey, proper casing, water quality testing, and community training ensure that the water source is both safe and long-lasting.
This initiative will directly support the Amboseli community by reducing the spread of waterborne diseases, lowering medical expenses, and improving overall health. Clean and accessible water also frees women and children from spending hours fetching water, giving students more time in school and enabling families to focus on productive activities. Reliable water access strengthens agriculture, supports small businesses, boosts food security, and contributes to long-term economic stability.
The total project cost is $30,300, covering the full drilling process, solar pump installation, water storage, tap stands, and all technical assessments needed for a safe and sustainable water system. Support is needed in 2026, and every contribution will help bring clean water closer to families who urgently depend on it.
